Economic Alliance Snohomish County to host healthcare summit

Everett, WA., August 8, 2023—Economic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC), in collaboration with Career Connect Washington Northwest (CCWNW), is pleased to announce an upcoming event focused on addressing the critical issues faced by the healthcare industry in today’s rapidly changing landscape. The expert panel discussion, titled “Navigating the Challenges and Opportunities in the Changing Landscape of Healthcare,” is presented by The Everett Clinic, part of Optum. The event will take place on September 27, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Henry M. Jackson Conference Center, located at Everett Community College.

As the world continues to grapple with the far-reaching effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the healthcare industry finds itself confronted with an array of challenges. Rising costs, workforce shortages, access to care, and quality of care are just a few of the pressing issues that demand immediate attention and strategic solutions.

“The healthcare industry plays a pivotal role in our society, and it is essential that we come together to tackle the pressing issues it faces today. Our expert panel discussion aims to shed light on these challenges and explore innovative strategies to ensure a robust and sustainable healthcare system for the future,” said Garry Clark, CEO and President of Economic Alliance Snohomish County.

The panel will feature distinguished industry leaders who will provide unique insights into the current state of the healthcare industry. The esteemed lineup of panelists includes:

  • Bill Akers, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, Premera Blue Cross
  • Kristy Carrington, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, Chief Executive, Providence Swedish North Puget Sound
  • Jose Reyes, MSN, Associate Dean of Nursing, Everett Community College
  • Imelda Dacones, MD, FACP, Market President, Optum Washington

The moderator for the discussion will be Snohomish County Executive, Dave Somers.
