General Election Results: Winners, losers and too close to call!

General Election 2023: [un]Divided with Brandi Kruse

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash., November 8, 2023—The Snohomish County Auditor’s Office has received 184,545 (35.40%) ballots as of November 8, 2023, of which 132,932 (25.91%) have been counted.

As of November 8, the City of Edmonds, leads the county with most ballots retuned with 50.45%, followed by City of Brier with 46.54%, and then the City of Snohomish with 44.10%.

Arlington Mayor Barb Tolbert, Edmonds Mayor Mike Nelson, Lynnwood City Councilman Jim Smith, and Mukilteo City Councilman Riaz Khan are out! Mukilteo picks two new City Council members: Mike Dixon and Dona Vago. Nick Coelho, in this third attempt has won a seat to the Lynnwood City Council. Julieta Altamirano-Crosby has retained her seat, and she will join David Parshall and Goerge Hurst.

Too close to call races: Snohomish County Sheriff, Mill Creek City Council Pos 5, Monroe School District No. 103 Director District 2, Everett School District No. 2 Director-at-Large Position 5.

The Sheriff’s race has tightened, with Sheriff Adam Fortney gaining 459 votes (+0.57 points). He now trails challenger Susanna Johnson with 48.21% to her 51.70%. Very little has changed in Everett School District No. 2 Director-at-Large Position 5 race between Charles Adkins and Ryne Rohla, and the Mill Creek City Council Pos 5 race between Tannis Golebiewski and Vincent J. Cavaleri.

Below are key races to watch in Snohomish County for the 2023 General Election. Initial results as of 8:15 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, have several candidates leading their race.  General Election results will be certified on November 28, 2023. The Lynnwood Times will be updating the election results daily by 7 p.m.

  1. Well shucks, you’d think your publications nonstop pandering to get fortney re elected would of worked. You tried so hard to push partisan politics too! Oh well there’s always next time right? Hahahahaha

      1. Why is it that when a democrat wins, they cheated? Yet, when a republican wins it’s all legit? Did you ever think that the republican just wasn’t a good candidate? That’s what we used to believe when a candidate lost. Before Trump convinced his RINO cult that a democrat can only win if they cheat?

  3. As for Snohomish Sheriff’s win good for the winner. My question will be when and if any categories of crime rates increase will the new Sheriff blame the last one as Joe Biden does almost daily. Susanna please don’t blame Adam and sorry Joe but Trump has been out of office for years, own it.
