Gesa Credit Union hosts Cheeseback giveaways at Lynnwood location

LYNNWOOD, Wash., November 23, 2023—Gesa Credit Union set up a four-day giveaway event in front of its Lynnwood location at 3405 188th Street, from November 19 through November 22, in honor of its WSU Cheeseback Rewards Program.

The rewards program is in partnership with Washington State University (WSU), a first of its kind program that began on September 8 in honor of the WSU vs. University of Wisconsin-Madison football game. The program allows Cougs the chance to earn rewards points toward free Cougar Gold cheese every time they swipe their WSU Affinity Debit Card. The program runs throughout the 2023 WSU football season.

Gesa’s Co-Branded Affinity Debit Card Program supports local schools by earning money for partner districts each time a card is used. In addition to this promotion, the WSU Affinity Debit Card earns money for the University’s Cougar Athletic Fund, year-round.

The giveaway event parked a Cougar Gold cheese truck in front of of the Lynnwood credit union, while Movin 92.5 radio DJs bumped upbeat grooves. Guests could also participate in events such as a cash cube where they try to grab as much cash as they can within a certain period (to be deposited into their new Gesa savings account), or a plink game where they can guess a number, drop a chip, and if it lands in that number they’re awarded free Cougar Gold cheese.

“Wisconsin may be the #1 cheese-producing state in the country, but I’m sure our fantastic partners at WSU can show them a thing or two about cheesemaking. Who doesn’t love Cougar Gold?” said Don Miller, President and CEO of Gesa Credit Union, and proud WSU alumni. “Over the years, Gesa has been honored to grow our partnership with WSU and expand on the fun, innovative programs we bring Cougs across the state. We’re really excited to kick off the football season with this Cheeseback Rewards program, and personally, I am really excited about the fun and creativity of it.”

There is no fee for members to switch their card to any of the school designs.  Anyone who lives, works, or worships in Washington is eligible to become a member and support their local schools.
