Mukilteo to hold public hearing on rezoning Japanese Gulch parcel for possible senior center

MUKILTEO—Mukilteo City Council will hold a public hearing on February 5, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, 11930 Cyrus Way to rezone a parcel of Japanese Gulch Park for the possibility of a senior center. The public hearing will be held in person and virtually on Facebook and Zoom for those who wish to participate remotely.

The purpose of the public hearing is for the City Council to consider a rezone of a portion of the Japanese Gulch Park Property, specifically parcel number 00591100000507 located just north of the intersection of 76th St SW and 44th Ave W. The property is currently used as a parking lot and entrance to the Japanese Gulch Park. A rezone from Open Space (OS) to Public—SemiPublic is proposed. This site is being considered as a possible location for a senior center, although approval of the rezone is not an approval of any specific future use. All the existing uses are legally allowed in the proposed zone.

Persons interested in commenting may provide oral or written comments at the public hearing of no more than five minutes. Written comments will be accepted at City Hall, located at 11930 Cyrus Way, or by e-mail at least one hour before the meeting the day of the public hearing.
