LYNNWOOD—A juvenile operating a stolen vehicle sped down Highway 99 and caused a three-car collision near 176th Street around 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 28. The suspect, a 16-year-old male from West Richland, has been booked into Denney Juvenile Detention Center.
The suspect had several outstanding felony warrants at the time of his arrest for attempted assault in the second degree, eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, and residential burglary. He now faces several new charges from the incident Thursday.
Lynnwood Police Officers noticed the stolen vehicle around 2:08 p.m. around the 17200 block of Highway 99. The 16-year-old driver noticed the officers and sped down Highway 99. The Officers did not engage in a pursuit nor operate their emergency vehicles. Shortly after, the driver caused a three-car collision but fortunately there were no injuries.
The suspect fled the vehicle after the collision on foot and officers chased, capturing him on the 17200 block of Highway 99.
Highway 99 and 176th Street was subsequently closed to the public for about an hour but has since reopened.
The juvenile was evaluated to a nearby hospital before booking.

So why wasn’t he in jail? “Several outstanding felony warrants at the time of his arrest for attempted assault in the second degree, eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, and residential burglary”. These repeat offenders need to be locked up. The parents will now be on the hook for a lot of the expenses. When will this “soft on crime” end? We obviously need stricter law and order. Can’t wait to vote in November.
Vote for Dave Reichert for governor and finally get some common sense laws in effect. Throw out the democratic career politicians for a change.
It’s time we start holding these judges and prosecutors accountable for letting these criminals out without bail and proper length of jail time.
Washington, wake up! Vote for people who will protect our society instead of destroy it. Democrats have had absolute control in Olympia for decades and have done nothing but make it less safe and too expensive.
