EASC and business leaders to advocate priorities in DC

EVERETTEconomic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC) is holding its annual D.C. Fly-In May 7-10, bringing business and community leaders together to discuss the region’s federal priorities over a three-day itinerary.

Delegation members will meet with congressional members, Senators and federal agencies as they take Economic Alliance Snohomish County’s federal agenda to key policy makers. The trip also includes networking opportunities and insightful policy discussions.

“As the trusted connection between business and government, we are uniquely positioned to represent the voice of business with our legislators,” says Wendy Poischbeg, EASC Interim President and CEO. “EASC is a model for public-private advocacy efforts that come together to take a unified message to federal policy makers.”

EASC’s advocacy agenda with federal lawmakers will touch on key policy issues in four main areas: economic development and international trade; workforce and talent; transportation and infrastructure; and military affairs. The agenda is developed in collaboration with business and community leaders, local governments, educational institutions, and non-profit leaders from across Snohomish County.

“Showing up with a strong voice for Snohomish County’s economic interests makes a difference,” says Rashma Agarwal, VP of Public Affairs for EASC. “Our presence on Capitol Hill underscores our commitment as advocates for the businesses and industries that drive our local economy forward.”

The DC Fly-In delegation will represent the Snohomish County business community from May 7 to May 10. The 2024 Federal Priorities Agenda can be viewed at this link on the EASC website.
