OLYMPIA—Executive-level election results in Washington state are officially being tallied. Some races we can call early and others, we will have to wait as ballots are counted over the next several days.
After the third day of results, Democratic candidates are leading all but one State Executive race. Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands has two Republicans, former Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler and Sue Kuehl Pederson, leading their nearest Democratic challenger, and will advance to the General Election.
Below are results in all State Executive races as of Thursday, August 8, 2024.
State Executive Race: WA State Governor
The Washington State Governor’s race is now between Democrat Bob Ferguson and Republican Dave Reichert. A total of 28 candidates vied to replace Jay Inslee, who announced that he weas not seeking re-election.

- Dave Reichert (Prefers Republican Party) 416,544, 27.74%
- Semi Bird (Prefers Republican Party) 152,930, 10.18%
- Mark Mullet (Prefers Democratic Party) 89,763, 5.98%
- All other Republican Party Candidates: 4.95%
- All other Democratic Party Candidates: 3.91%
- All other candidates: 1.73%

State Executive Race: WA State Lieutenant Governor
The Washington State Lt. Governor’s race is now between Democrat Denny Heck and Republican Dan Matthews.

State Executive Race: WA State Secretary of State
The Washington State Secretary of State’s race is now between incumbent Democrat Steve Hobbs and Republican Dale Whitaker.

Former Public Lands Commissioner Hilary Franz first announced a gubernatorial run, then announcing a congressional run for United States Representative Derek Kilmer open seat in CD-6. Franz did not make the final two in that race.

The Washington State Treasurer’s race is now between incumbent Democrat Mike Pellicciotti and Republican Sharon Hanek.
