20-year-old Arlington man tragically killed in traffic collision

ARLINGTON—Washington State Patrol released that Riley Maggard, 20, of Arlington, was killed in a fatal traffic collision shortly after 12 a.m., Friday (Thursday night), November 1.

Maggard was travelling southbound on I-5 just north of 172nd NE / SR-531 near exit 206 when he lost control of his vehicle, swearing across multiple lanes. The vehicle struck a pole and burst into flames after rolling over from striking a ditch.

The victim’s father provided WSP with a positive identification at the accident scene. Maggard was wearing a seatbelt, according to WSP, and it is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol contributed to the incident.
