EVERETT—The Snohomish County Planning & Development Services is hosting a FREE all-ages workshop on a newly proposed Light Rail Community (LRC) zone that will define the standards that development near future light rail stations will need to meet. The LRC zone aims to support high-density residential, commercial, and community service uses that are pedestrian and transit oriented. Â
About the Light Rail Community Zone Design Workshop
This event is a group workshop being held by Snohomish County Planning & Development Services. The purpose of the workshop is to briefly review preliminary drafts, then dive into the nitty-gritty and work through the goals, impact, and specific standards necessary to achieve those goals together. The workshop will include presentations from Snohomish County and Sound Transit. There will also be opportunities for group discussion on the proposed LRC zone regulations.
The County is creating a new Light Rail Community (LRC) zone that will define the standards that development near future light rail stations will need to meet. The LRC zone is proposed around the planned light rail station locations at Ash Way, Mariner, and SR 99/Airport Road. The LRC zone aims to support high-density residential, commercial, office, and community service uses that are pedestrian and transit oriented. More information is available on the Light Rail Communities Webpage.

Take the Survey
County officials want to hear the community’s input on this zone, and how they would like to see the areas around light rail stations develop in anticipation of future light rail transit service. This survey is an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed LRC zone. The draft LRC Zone is available for review online. The Light Rail Communities Webpage includes additional information on the LRC zone project. Â
