“Chief Langdon is a respected leader both within his community but also regionally and we appreciate him joining our board,” said Steve Strachan, WASPC executive director.  “The Chief will be part of critical statewide public safety policy and advocacy, and we are thankful he is stepping up to take on this leadership role.”

Chief Langdon has been with the Lynnwood Police Department for 27 years and has served as the Chief since July of 2023.

Throughout his career in Lynnwood, Chief Langdon has gained a depth of experience in many aspects of policing, from patrol and K-9 handling, traffic and collision investigations, and training and accreditation. He served on the North Sound Metro SWAT team and headed up the department’s Community Health and Safety Section.

“Chief Langdon is well-respected in our local community, throughout the region and state,” stated Mayor Christine Frizzell. “He is a true public servant and his vision for community-based policing will be a huge asset to the WASPC Board helping to inform an environment of policing that will better address our current day challenges.

“It is an honor to be selected to serve on the WASPC Board,” said Langdon. “I am looking forward to working alongside a group of dedicated public safety professionals in advocating for this noble and important profession.”

WASPC was founded in 1963 and consists of executive and top management personnel from law enforcement agencies statewide. With more than 900 members it includes 39 county sheriffs, and 240 police chiefs, as well as the Washington State Patrol, the Washington Department of Corrections, and representatives of Tribal and federal agencies.
