Two-alarm fire at Everett storage facility destroys 13 units

EVERETT—More than 60 firefighters from across south Snohomish County worked Monday evening to extinguish a storage facility fire in Everett that produced a thermal column seen for miles.

Snohomish County Fire reports that firefighters were dispatched to Trojan Storage located at 13026 4th Ave. W in Everett just after 6:30 p.m. to find heavy fire conditions. The fire was upgraded to two alarms to bring in necessary resources.

Flames destroyed approximately 13 storage bays used to house vehicles, but firefighters managed to save an adjoining shop that contained flammable chemicals. More than a dozen additional storage units had heat damage. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Firefighters will monitor the facility through the night to ensure there are no flareups. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
