EVERETT—Retired Everett firefighter, and labor advocate Don Schwab officially announced his campaign for reelection to a second term on the Everett City Council representing District 3. With a deep commitment to public service and a proven track record of leadership, Schwab is ready to continue working for a stronger, more vibrant Everett.
“It has been an honor to serve the residents on the Everett City Council,” said Schwab. “Over the past four years, we have made progress, but there is still more work to be done. I am running for reelection to ensure that Everett remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Schwab’s campaign will focus on continuing progress in key areas, including:
- Public Safety – Strengthening first responder resources, supporting the maintenance of Police, EMS, and Fire Department budgets, improving traffic intersection safety, implementing traffic calming measures, and investing in community-based programs to ensure a safe and welcoming Everett.
- Economic Development – Supporting small businesses, attracting new opportunities, and fostering a resilient local economy. This includes the quality of our library and parks and the overall quality of life that makes Everett an attractive place to live and work.
- Affordable Housing – Advocating for smart growth strategies that balance development with the need for accessible, affordable housing, including neighborhood-friendly projects with tree canopies that enhance green spaces and community well-being.
- Infrastructure & Sustainability – Investing in sustainable infrastructure, improving transportation options, protecting Everett’s natural environment, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Neighborhood Engagement – Actively involved in supporting neighborhood groups and successfully bringing back the Neighborhood Watch program to enhance community safety and engagement.
With a lifetime of service as a firefighter, union leader, Snohomish County Deputy Treasurer, safety manager, and dedicated community advocate, Don has demonstrated his commitment to our community. His leadership on the City Council has been defined by his commitment to listening, collaborating, and taking action to improve the city.
“I’m running for reelection because I believe in Everett’s potential and the dedication of our residents.” Schwab added. “I look forward to continuing to engage with the neighborhoods, listen to their concerns, and work together for a better future.”
