SNOHOMISH COUNTY — After schools’ release for summer break, Snohomish County bridge replacement projects and pending road closures will take place in north and south county. The replacement of Swamp Creek Bridge 503 near Brier and Jordan Creek Bridge 214 near Granite Falls will be completed in one construction season from June through October.
Swamp Creek Bridge 503 Replacement
A road closure is planned for Locust Way at Swamp Creek Bridge 503 between 226th Pl SW and 228th St SW, beginning Wednesday, June 25, and lasting through October. The new bridge will remove current vehicle weight limits and connect to existing sidewalks, helping meet the growing traffic needs of the area. A signed detour will direct traffic around the project site. Residents are encouraged to sign up for email or text notifications on the project webpage: snohomishcountywa.gov/4116.
Please note: In addition, Snohomish County Surface Water Management (SWM), a division of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, is scheduled to replace a failing culvert in the area south of 228th St SW on Barker Rd (Bothell) during summer of 2025. This project will require a two-week road closure and detour, but local access will be maintained for property owners.
Jordan Creek Bridge 214 Replacement
Jordan Road will close at Jordan Creek Bridge 214 immediately south of 143rd Ave NE, past Jordan Bridge Park, on Thursday, June 19. The road will remain closed through October. The replacement bridge will remove weight restrictions and provide added travel lanes. A signed detour will direct traffic around Burn Rd. Residents are encouraged to sign up for email or text notifications on the project webpage: snohomishcountywa.gov/4117
Please note: During construction, Jordan Bridge Park (known as the pedestrian swinging bridge), will be accessible only from the north/Arlington side of Jordan Rd. The six parking stalls at the park will remain open. Parking along Jordan Road is not authorized. Visitors desiring river access along Jordan Rd should consider River Meadows Park (north of Bridge 214) and Riverscene Park (south of Bridge 214).
