Beginning Tuesday, July 1, toll rates for the SR 99 tunnel in Seattle will increase by 3 percent. The Washington State Transportation Commission (WSTC) approved this increase during its May 13 meeting as part of a scheduled rate adjustment plan adopted in 2018.
What’s changing:
- Toll rates will increase by 5 cents during off-peak and morning hours.
- Toll rates will increase by 10 cents during evening peak hours.

Tolling helps repay the cost to build the tunnel, along with operations, and ongoing maintenance. Tolls vary depending on the time of day, with lower rates on nights and weekends. As always, drivers with a Good To Go! account and pass will continue to pay the lowest toll rate on every trip.
