ARLINGTON—Arlington Police are investigating an assault near Arlington Municipal Airport, where a 27-year-old man was seriously injured by a known associate wielding a knife.
On June 22, 2025, at approximately 09:52 a.m., Arlington Police Officers responded to a report of an assault incident near the Arlington Municipal Airport in the 17700 block of 49th Drive NE. In the incident, a 27-year-old man suffered potentially fatal injuries after a known associate brandished a knife.
Witnesses at the scene quickly transported the victim to the nearby Skagit Regional Health Clinic for emergency treatment. The Arlington Police Department secured the incident scene for response by the Criminal Investigations Division and processing by detectives.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect, a 28-year-old male, had fled the scene in a vehicle. The Police Department requested mutual aid from surrounding law enforcement agencies to aid in a region-wide search for the suspect.
The FLOCK Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras played a critical role in discovering the location and direction of travel of the suspect vehicle. This information was then shared with the Marysville Police Department, who were able to successfully attach GPS technology to the suspect vehicle using their StarChase vehicle-mounted GPS launchers.
Due to this collaborative effort, officers were able to intercept and safely arrest the suspect without further incident. The suspect will be booked into the Snohomish County Jail on charges of assault in the First Degree and Violation of a Domestic Violence Court Order. The victim was transported by EMS to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett for further medical treatment.
Arlington Police Department detectives remain on-scene at both the original incident location and apprehension location for scene processing. Police activity will be visible and continue for the next few hours at these sites.
