BOTHELL — On July 24, 2025, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 19-year-old motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle collision in unincorporated Bothell, with investigators indicating that speed may have contributed to the incident.

The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the 16500 block of 35th Avenue SE. According to the sheriff’s office press release, the motorcycle traveling northbound on 35th Ave SE failed to negotiate a curve in the road causing it to lose control and leave the roadway. The motorcycle and 19-year-old driver subsequently struck a fence and utility box.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by responding fire personnel. There were no other vehicles involved.
Collision Investigation Unit detectives responded to the scene and closed the road for several hours to conduct their investigation.
Detectives are still working to determine the cause of the crash, but speed is believed to be a contributing factor.
The identity of the deceased, along with the official cause and manner of death, will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Earlier in July, a 46-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving a Jeep in unincorporated Lynnwood
