EDMONDS—The City of Edmonds will be holding a fall program open house for its Frances Anderson Cultural and Leisure Center on Saturday, September 13, where guests can meet instructors, learn about upcoming new programs, and catch a presentation by the Reptile Man.

The Frances Anderson Center’s, located at 700 Main Street in Edmonds, open house will run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and showcase a variety of upcoming and programs for all ages including: digital music creation, tot music, yoga, fitness, mixed martial arts, ball hockey, watercolor, sketching, STEM programs, and a wide variety of dance classes such as hip hop, line dance, belly dance, salsa, swing, and more.
The open house will also commemorate the opening of the center’s brand-new Indoor Play Space for kids under five years old and be open that day for kids to explore and play.
Beginning at 10 a.m. the renowned Monroe-based Reptile Man will be presenting an educational, all-ages, show where guests can learn more about snakes, lizards, alligators and more. After the show guests will even have the opportunity of getting up-close and personal to these amazing critters. The show is free for everyone through a private donation.
Scott “The Reptile Man” Peterson, is a certified zookeeper and former high school biology teacher. His love for reptiles, and animals in general, stems from having an active, outdoor, life growing up in Utah where he enjoyed observing and capturing wild reptiles.
For the last 35 years Peterson has made a living touring schools across the state presenting reptile shows for children and adults alike. He has performed for over 800 schools, festivals, corporate parties and other events and was even featured on Disney’s Bill Nye The Science Guy and PBS’s Biz Kids.
