MARYSVILLE- A brand new senior independent living center is coming to Snohomish County on October 22 with the groundbreaking of Cascade Village at Smokey Point. The nonprofit, faith-based community, based in Marysville, Washington, is sponsored by the locally owned and operated Josephine Caring Community in Stanwood.
Cascade Village will be the first Life Plan Community in Snohomish County, offering Life Care contracts and a comprehensive continuum of care. This approach ensures residents are protected from future, unpredictable expenses related to long-term care.
Josephine Caring Community CEO Terry Robertson highlights how the community will bring a fresh approach to aging that blends lifestyle, wellness and trusted care.
“Breaking ground on Cascade Village marks the beginning of a truly unique community that stands apart from traditional senior living options,” said Robertson. “We’re crafting an environment that not only embraces the natural beauty of the Northwest, but also prioritizes active lifestyles and meaningful connections. It’s different from anything else in the region.”
The community will feature 63 one- and two-bedroom homes as well as two-bedroom villa homes, designed with multiple dwellings for a more intimate neighborhood feel. Floor plans will range from 777 to 2,300 square feet, with each home offering a private patio. Inspired by Northwest modern architecture, the community will reflect a style that is both contemporary and rooted in the region’s natural beauty.
Cascade Village is anticipated to open in spring 2027 with residences designed to offer both comfort and flexibility for today’s seniors and tomorrow’s needs. The community will also feature gathering spaces that foster connection, including lounges, cafes and landscaped courtyards.
The project represents a significant investment in the region, bringing new housing, services, and jobs to Marysville while addressing the growing demand for senior living options in Washington.
