LYNNWOOD – Edmonds College students Leonie Baker, Cadaia Lake, Dulce Reyes, and Paulina Savoie will be honored as members of the 2026 All-Washington (All-WA) Academic Team during a ceremony at South Puget Sound Community College on April 23. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an honor society serving two-year colleges, selects team members each year based on their academic achievements and community service.

“Leonie, Cadaia, Dulce, and Paulina embody the resilience and ambition that define Edmonds College,” said Edmonds President Dr. Amit B. Singh. “Their journeys—marked by profound personal growth, leadership in the face of adversity, and a deep commitment to helping others—are truly inspirational. They have not only excelled in the classroom but have enriched our campus community. We are honored to have them represent us on this year’s All-Washington team.”
South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) invites the entire state of Washington to the 30th annual All-Washington (All-WA) Academic Team Ceremony. The ceremony will honor students from the state’s 34 community and technical colleges. It will be hosted virtually on SPSCC’s YouTube channel and the college’s All-WA web page starting Thursday, April 23, at 12:30 p.m.
This year’s team of over 90 students will receive a $210 KeyBank scholarship and All-WA recognition at the ceremony. In addition, the top 16 students, as ranked by PTK, will receive an additional $780 from WSECU. The top three will receive an extra $1,000 from the Washington State Association of College Trustees.

Leonie Baker – Transfer Pathway Scholarship

Leonie Baker is an LPN pursuing her nursing degree and has a 3.57 GPA. As a Jamaican immigrant and mother, her journey from a Caribbean village to the 2026 All-WA Team reflects deep resilience and faith. Rising from a Home Health Aide to a future RN, Baker aims to specialize in geriatrics. She leads with empathy and advocates for racial equality, dedicated to serving her community with dignity while building a purposeful life for her family.
Cadaia Lake – Transfer Pathway Scholarship

Business Management major Cadaia Lake maintains a 3.79 GPA while modeling a life of radical accountability. After overcoming homelessness and addiction, Lake is celebrating three years of sobriety. She serves as an Oxford House Chapter Secretary, restoring integrity within recovery housing. Her goal is to attend the University of Washington and leverage her accounting career to launch an ethical apothecary. Lake’s journey proves it is never too late to rewrite a narrative through resilience, academic excellence, and community service.
Dulce Reyes – Transfer Pathway Scholarship

Nursing student Dulce Reyes maintains a 3.68 GPA while navigating higher education as a first-generation student and single mother. Currently an LPN student and Nurse Tech, Reyes has climbed the healthcare ladder from hospitality aide to clinical leader. A member of the Latino Leadership Institution, she mentors high school students in accessing college resources. Reyes leads with empathy and advocacy, planning to transfer to a BSN program to serve her community and inspire her daughter.
Paulina Savoie – Transfer Pathway Scholarship

Paralegal student Paulina Savoie maintains a 4.0 GPA while pursuing her degree. As an immigrant from Poland and a mother, she balances rigorous studies with caregiving and navigating the U.S. immigration process. An active PTK member and President’s List student, Paulina is dedicated to accuracy and ethical leadership in civil litigation. She aspires to become an attorney through the APR 6 program, modeling resilience for her stepdaughters and providing vital clarity to those often lost in complex legal systems.

The college serves approximately 18,000 students annually, including approximately 800 international students from about 55 countries. The college currently offers six Bachelor of Applied Science degrees, one Bachelor of Science degree, 66 associate degrees, and 111 professional certificates in 30 programs of study. The college operates two on-campus residence halls housing approximately 400 students. The college offers a wide range of comprehensive offerings: College credit in high school, basic education skills to earn a high school diploma/GED or to prepare for college, short-term non-credit training, continuing education, online degrees and certificates, and courses offered day, night, and weekend. Support services include childcare, a campus food pantry, a 211 navigator, and mental health resources.
