EVERETT—The Washington Wolfpack are making monumental strides in year three. Riding high on a two-game winning streak, the Wolfpack return home to Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett for a showdown with the Beaumont Renegades on Saturday, May 23, at 3:00 p.m. PST. This will also be Hometown Heroes Night for the Wolfpack, for all first responders, military members, healthcare workers, and community leaders to join us for a special game in your honor.

Washington’s turnaround started against the defending champion Albany Firebirds in a hard-fought Week 4 game that saw the Wolfpack in it until the last play. In Week 5, Washington secured their first win of the season with a thrilling, last-second win courtesy of a Deshon Williams touchdown catch. Last weekend, Washington set a new franchise record for points scored in a game as they trounced the rival Oregon Lightning 79-19.
“Over the past three years, we have been building a foundation for success on the field and off the field,” said Owner Kelly Fahey. “Seeing the on-field success start to take hold and take off is something we are all incredibly proud and excited about. Setting a franchise high with 79 points is a huge achievement that has us all ready to go this weekend.”
Over the past three weeks, the Wolfpack have seen their offense ignite and take flight thanks to rookie quarterback Jaiave Magalei finding his footing. Since taking over as the starter in Week 3, Magalei has looked better and better each week. He has averaged five total touchdowns through the air and on the ground over his past three games.
Magalei’s success has been powered by three star receivers in Quintavius Workman, Aakiel Greer, and Deshon Williams have been dominant at every level of the field and have helped Magalei acclimate to the arena game. With three talented receivers, it is a challenge for opposing defenses to contain the Wolfpack offense, and it showed on Saturday.

Defensively, the Wolfpack have been outstanding as well. Newcomer Byron Edwards has been leading the secondary as they have shut down passing offenses all season. Edwards has four interceptions on the season, and three of them have been pick-sixes. As a seasoned arena football pro, Edwards knows the game and how to be a leader. Machiah Lee, a returning member of the Wolfpack, has also gotten in on the turnover action with a key interception last week against the Renegades.
The front line of the defense has been wreaking havoc all season and had its best game on Saturday as the combination of Abu Bangura and Michael Badejo repeatedly collapsed the pocket and forced mistakes by the Lightning’s quarterbacks.
The Arena Football One season continues with the Woflpack hosting the Renegades on Saturday, May 23, at 3:00 PM for Hometown Heroes Night. The Pack have four home games remaining, and tickets are available for the most exciting game on turf!
