LYNNWOOD — Hundreds attended the ribbon cutting of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers‘ first Snohomish County location in Lynnwood on Tuesday, June 23, bringing the chain’s signature chicken finger meals to Snohomish County.

“Very happy to see them being part of our community,” Mayor George Hurst told the Lynnwood Times. “Everyone was excited this morning. When you look at a business you look at their vision and their belief system. Raising Cane’s believes in their employees, they enable them… and they are involved in the community. Just this morning, they donated $2,500 to the Snohomish County Youth Athletic
Hurst shared that he enjoyed “The Box” at the franchise’s soft opening on Monday.
“The chicken is great,” Hurst said. “Who thinks you can have a successful restaurant just with chicken tenders, but he’s done it and they are all over the nation.”
The new restaurant, located at 1232 164th St. SW and open from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday – Thursday and until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, launched with a grand opening celebration that included promotions for the public to win FREE food and complimentary swag. The restaurant took over the former Wells Fargo bank branch building right across from Martha Lake Plaza, just east of I-5.
“My friends and I waited like an hour but it was worth it,” Jessica told the Lynnwood Times. “The chicken fingers were actually insane.”
Her friend Ty added, “The chicken fingers were bigger than I expected too. Like actual pieces of chicken, not little nuggets.”

Raising Cane’s was founded in 1996 by Todd Graves near the North Gates of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Graves, who serves as founder, CEO, fry cook and cashier, built the company around a single focus after his original business plan for a chicken-finger-only restaurant received the lowest grade in his college class and was rejected by banks.
His tenacity paid off. Graves financed his first location through savings from work as a boilermaker and sockeye salmon fisherman in Alaska, naming the restaurant after his yellow Labrador retriever, Raising Cane.
