City of Arlington announces new bicycle pump track at Jensen Park, with ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for July 29

ARLINGTON—The City of Arlington invites the community to celebrate the opening of its new bicycle pump track at Jensen Park on Tuesday, July 29, with food vendors opening at 11:30 a.m. and the ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 12:30 p.m.

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Arlington, the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians, Amazon, and Snohomish County, the City has begun construction on the new pump track at Jensen Park. The project officially kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, June 22. Construction is expected to take approximately four weeks.

The City has contracted with American Ramp Company to build a 14,000-square-foot Velosolutions asphalt pump track at Jensen Park. Designed for riders of all skill levels, the track will feature a beginner course as well as advanced elements, including a wall ride and progressive transfer options. A pump track is a looping course of rollers and berms that allows riders to build momentum with little or no pedaling, making it a popular option for both recreation and skill-building.

The project builds on Arlington’s long-term parks planning. The City’s Parks and Recreation Commission previously identified a bicycle park as a community priority, and when the pump track concept was presented, the Arlington Rotary Club took the lead in turning that vision into reality through fundraising tied to its Duck Dash event. Rotary has long supported park improvement projects in Arlington, and its leadership and investment have been central to moving this project forward.

Snohomish County, Amazon, and the Stillaguamish Tribe also helped bring the project to completion through key funding contributions. In addition to its original contribution, the Stillaguamish Tribe provided additional funding in March for pump track construction, making it possible to include a small children’s riding area in the plan and expand access for younger riders and families. The City sincerely appreciates its continued partnership with the Stillaguamish Tribe.

The City also appreciates the support of County Councilmember Nate Nehring for helping advance the effort through the Snohomish County Partnership Program, which aims to increase recreational opportunities for county residents.

Once complete, the new pump track will expand recreational opportunities at Jensen Park and create a new space for riders of all skill levels to build confidence, stay active, and enjoy the park.
