SNOHOMISHโKen Klein, City Administrator of Snohomish, recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. Klein is one of over 1,300 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.ย

Earning ICMA’s Credentialed Manager designation is another reflection of his commitment to excellence and the high standard of public service he brings to our community,” said Mayor Aaron Hoffman.ย
ICMAโs mission is to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics and by increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world. The organizationโs 13,000 members in 27 countries also include educators, students, and other local government employees. To receive the prestigious ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.
Klein holds a bachelorโs degree in business administration and has more than 10 years of executive leadership experience in local government. Before joining the City of Snohomish as City Administrator in 2026, he served as an Executive Director in the Snohomish County Executiveโs Office, overseeing nine departments with a combined budget of more than $650 million and approximately 1,100 employees.
Klein has also contributed to local and regional governance through his service on the Arlington City Council, the Snohomish County Planning Commission, Snohomish County Tomorrow, the Puget Sound Regional Council, and the Snohomish County Law and Justice Regional Council.
