MARYSVILLE—On August 31, 2026, the Marysville Police Department seized 42 dogs from a utility trailer after officers discovered extreme breeding‑hoarding conditions.
The dogs, identified as West Highland White Terriers (Westies), were found inside a cramped utility trailer outfitted with makeshift partitions, stacked kennels, and a plastic storage tub containing young puppies. Many of the dogs were matted, urine‑soaked, and covered in feces, with some exhibiting signs of medical distress.
Ages ranged from approximately four weeks to four years. None of the dogs were spayed or neutered.
All 42 dogs were transported to a nearby shelter, where staff conducted intake procedures including vaccination, microchipping, weighing, and placement into clean enclosures. Pending medical evaluation more information on adopting will be released.
Marysville Police have recommended 42 counts of Animal Cruelty in the Second Degree. The Marysville Police Department remains committed to protecting animals from inhumane conditions and holding individuals accountable for violations of Washington’s animal cruelty laws.
