LYNNWOOD — Several blocks of 44th Avenue West will close to traffic Saturday, September 12, as the city hosts Fair on 44th, its annual free community block party presented by Gesa Credit Union.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. along 44th Avenue West between 188th Street Southwest and 194th Street Southwest, in front of the Civic Campus at 19100 44th Ave. W. Organizers fill the closed roadway with city departments, community partners, food vendors and family activities. City officials call it Lynnwood’s community health and safety block party and one of the largest events of the year.
Visitors will be able to tour and photograph fire trucks, ambulances, a police SWAT robot, a loader and bucket truck, a mini excavator, a vintage tractor and other city vehicles. Demonstrations are planned from the police K-9 and motor squad, along with disaster-preparedness skills, a pipe band and fitness sessions. MT Baker Square Dancing will invite participants to learn new steps.
Families can play games, complete craft projects, pose at a photo booth and look for Clark the Shark. Soccer Shots Seattle is offering free youth soccer sessions, and a youth bike rodeo is among the hands-on activities listed by event listings. The Sno-Isle Libraries bookmobile will be on site for library cards, browsing and borrowing. Cultural groups will highlight their work in the community, and city staff will share updates on development, construction projects and light rail.

Organizers are collecting single-serving, shelf-stable food donations for the Foundation for Edmonds School District’s Nourishing Network.
Health and wellness resources include blood pressure checks, information on insurance coverage and dental care, and wellness programs. QFC and Kroger Health are partnering on a vaccine clinic; available shots may include flu, COVID-19, RSV, shingles and pneumonia, subject to supply. Attendees are encouraged to schedule appointments in advance.
Parking is limited at the Lynnwood Recreation Center (access from 188th Street) and near City Hall and the library (access from 194th Street). The city recommends carpooling, walking, biking or using Community Transit or the Zip Alderwood Shuttle. Leashed pets are welcome; owners must clean up after them.
