MUKILTEO—The Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce is accepting resumes for the full-time Executive Director position. The Executive Director serves as the Chamber’s primary leader and spokesperson and will work from the Chamber office located at 4902 76th Street SW in the Old Town neighborhood of Mukilteo.
The Chamber is a 501(c)(6) membership organization dedicated to promoting business development, free enterprise, and economic growth in the greater Mukilteo area. It works to maintain a business-friendly environment, advocate for members on issues that affect local enterprise, keep members informed, refer customers to member businesses, host networking opportunities, sponsor and participate in community events, and promote tourism.
The Chamber is governed by an seven-member volunteer Board of Directors. Jim Tinsley serves as Board Chair for 2026 with 2019 Mukilteo Citizen of the Year, Matt Martin, as Immediate Past Board Chair. Additional directors represent local business, hospitality, finance, port and government affairs, and community institutions.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, collaborates with the Board Chair and full board on strategy and policy, and is responsible for day-to-day leadership, operations, and public representation of the Chamber. The position also oversees Chamber operations and works with staff and volunteers.
The City of Mukilteo Visitor Information Center is co-located with the Chamber office and provides maps, brochures, relocation information, and visitor assistance. A core duty will also be managing the tourism and visitor information function in partnership with the City of Mukilteo.

- Managing the tourism office in partnership with the City of Mukilteo
- Seeking grants and diversifying existing revenue streams
Ideal qualities for the candidate should include strong communication and relationship-building skills; leadership experience; nonprofit, business, and economic-development acumen; event planning and execution experience; and grant writing.
This is a full-time position based at the Mukilteo Chamber office. Starting wage is $35 an hour, with bonus potential.
Mukilteo is a waterfront city of about 21,000 to 22,000 residents on Possession Sound in Snohomish County, roughly 25 to 30 minutes north of Seattle. Mukilteo is known for the historic Mukilteo Lighthouse, the Washington State Ferries terminal to Clinton on Whidbey Island, and proximity to Paine Field and Boeing’s Everett assembly plant. The city has been recognized as one of Money Magazine’s top 10 small towns to live in (2011).
The local economy mixes small shops, restaurants, professional services, and advanced manufacturing. Global and regional firms including Boeing and Mukilteo-based Electroimpact sit alongside family businesses in Old Town, mid-town, and Harbour Pointe. Median household income is well above national averages, schools are highly regarded, and the city offers waterfront access, trails, parks, lodging, and dining with views of Puget Sound, Whidbey Island, and the Olympic and Cascade mountains.
The Chamber is a civic and economic partner as well as a business membership group. It participates in the City of Mukilteo’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee and partners with the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County and hosts the mayor’s annual State of the City address. Membership, ambassador work, and events also tie the Chamber to neighboring Snohomish County communities and to waterfront visitors arriving for the lighthouse, beach, and ferry.
The Chamber organizes and hosts more than 50 events a year, from weekly networking to large public festivals. Recurring programs include a Wednesday morning networking group at the Chamber office; Business After Hours on the second Thursday of most months; monthly Chamber Breakfasts with guest speakers; and Lunch & Learn sessions. Major Chamber-hosted events include the Wine & Seafood Fest, Community Awards Gala, Music at the Beach concert series at Lighthouse Park, Summer Sunset Wine Tasting, Candidate Forum, and the Great Mukilteo Dog Show.
In 2026, the Wine & Seafood Fest marked its sixth year and was held at the beach under a tent with local restaurants and Pacific Northwest wineries. Music at the Beach is a free, all-ages summer series with live music and a beer and wine garden. The Chamber has also partnered with the City of Mukilteo on community celebrations, including the America 250 event at Lighthouse Park on July 4, 2026, for which the Chamber sponsored the beer garden.
