MUKILTEO [Future 42] — Thursday evening, Future 42 hosted its annual dinner event at the Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo. The event sold out several weeks in advance and included a standing-room-only audience of over 200 prominent business leaders, state and local elected officials, and community members.
Future 42’s purpose is to change the course of Washington State to prioritize policies that will allow citizens, entrepreneurs, and businesses to thrive and prosper. By turning frustration into action, Future 42 is building a diverse and engaged community of Washingtonians to fuel a wave of empowerment. Future 42 serves as an organized and effective voice for good ideas and common-sense policies on timely and topical issues including: creating a safe and livable state, ensuring a more affordable cost of living, lowering our taxes, and providing an environment for our citizens and businesses to thrive.
The keynote speaker for the annual dinner was Kyle Mann, who is the Editor-in-Chief of The Babylon Bee. Kyle delivered remarks on the importance of freedom of speech and how humor and satire can be used to bridge political divides. He shared several Babylon Bee headlines that poked fun at both the political left and right and detailed the battle against censorship from the government, big tech, and the corporate media.
The annual event included an update on the impact Future 42 is having statewide and the organization’s momentum and growth in Snohomish County and throughout Washington State.
Future 42’s annual Dr. Gregg Jantz Community Impact Award was also presented. The late Dr. Jantz was a beloved member of the Snohomish County community and was an early supporter of Future 42’s efforts. Dr. Jantz and his wife, LaFon, co-founded The Center: A Place of Hope in Edmonds.
The 2026 award recipient was the Skotdal family, who have played a vital role in the downtown revitalization of Everett and broader economic development and jobs advocacy efforts throughout Snohomish County, including bringing commercial passenger air service to Paine Field Airport, expanding Providence Regional Medical Center, and attracting new employers, amenities, and investments to Snohomish County. Craig Skotdal accepted the award on behalf of the family, with his father Art also in attendance.
Following the dinner, Future 42 hosted a young professionals event which featured Kyle Mann, local elected officials, and business owners representing the next generation of community leaders.
