LYNNWOOD — The Edmonds College Foundation has announced a new campus tradition, “Triton Heroes: A Community Celebration,” a fall fundraiser and awards event honoring extraordinary individuals across the campus community. All proceeds from the Friday, Oct. 16 event will directly benefit the college’s SAFE Harbor Campaign, which provides vital emergency resources to help students overcome unexpected barriers and stay on track to achieve their educational goals.

Guests attending Triton Heroes will experience an engaging evening featuring a vibrant showcase of campus organizations, live student performances, and a lively raffle and silent auction. The event will also highlight culinary talent with delicious hors d’oeuvres and desserts prepared by Edmonds College Culinary students. The celebration will culminate in the presentation of the inaugural Triton Heroes Awards, recognizing three outstanding individuals who embody the spirit of compassion, leadership, and belonging that defines Edmonds College.
“Triton Heroes reflects the spirit of compassion and leadership that makes our college community so special,” said Edmonds College Foundation Executive Director Lillian Sherman. “Every dollar raised helps ensure that when students face unexpected financial or personal hardships, Edmonds College has the resources in place to support them.”
Proceeds from Triton Heroes will help support the Triton Student Resource Hub building renovation, Complete the Dream scholarships, the campus Food Pantry, and the Student Emergency Fund, the four key community funding goals under the SAFE Harbor Campaign.
- (S)helter and Basic Needs: Support crises related to housing, transportation, child care, and other emergency needs.
- (A)ccessibility: Renovate the Triton Student Resource Hub building so it is fully ADA accessible and a space where families can access emergency resources with dignity and privacy.
- (F)ood Security: Upgrade the Food Pantry’s capacity and electrical system to house more produce, meat, and dairy options to meet the needs of the 39% of Edmonds College students who report struggling with food insecurity.
- (E)mpowerment: Provide the tools students need to thrive with an updated, centralized emergency resource center with easy access to the Hub’s Community Resource Advocate and the services they provide.
Together, these initiatives give students access to essential food, emergency financial aid, and welcoming campus spaces where they can get the support they need to succeed.
