Sheriff Deputies detain two after Marysville bus shooting, no injuries

MARYSVILLE — Two to three men were involved in an altercation aboard a Community Transit bus that escalated when a gun was fired near State and Grove streets, authorities said. No one was struck.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 8 p.m. Tuesday to reports of an assault on the bus, Courtney O’Keefe, director of communications for the sheriff’s office, said. Marysville police arrived first because the incident occurred inside city limits.

The men fled on foot, O’Keefe said. Marysville officers launched a drone and deployed a police dog to search the area. Officers detained two men, who were booked into Snohomish County jail on active warrants.

Deputies are still working to identify everyone involved, and the case remains an active investigation, O’Keefe said.

An adult man who was not involved in the altercation injured his hand during the scuffle and was taken to Providence Hospital as a precaution, she said.
