You can run, but you can’t hide!

A suspect that fled was captured after LPD used the technology of a drone to stop him.

On August 22, Arlington police requested the assistance of the Lynnwood Police Department for a male suspect in his late twenties with a felony warrant out of Hawaii. An aerial drone with FLIR camera capabilities assisted the K9 officer who was already involved in the chase.

After observing a heat signature which consisted in the shape of a human body, the police officer commanding the drone directed the K9 team to that location. After a few minutes the K9 unit was able to stop and take custody of the suspect.

FLIR drones are equipped with a thermal camera that can detect and locate the heat signature of the human body.

Threatens to kill former roommate

On August 27, a man who lives in the same household with his wife and two kids, told the responding police officer that a former female occupant approached his son threatening to have her friends break into the dwelling, tie up his father and then kill him. The son confirmed in front of the police officer that the information was true.

Few months earlier, the female shared a room with her mother in the same house. According to the reporting party, she was kicked out of the house due to her drug use. Her mother continues to live in the home. The father also shared that female suspect threaten him a few months earlier but he did not report it because she left without incident.

From the information collected, the police officers believe they have enough facts and probable cause for arresting the suspect under the category of DV harassment.
