EVERETT, Wash. March 13, 2023โThe YMCA of Snohomish County wrapped up its first-ever My Y Week on Saturday, March 4, surpassing its $30,000 fundraising goal by bringing in over $34,000 in financial support. Throughout My Y Week, community sponsors donated $1 every time a member scanned-in from February 26 to March 4, 2023, boosting participation and generating excitement around the 2023 Annual Campaign.
This yearโs My Y Week sponsors, LifeWise Health Plan of Washington, Optum, Fortive, Fluke, and Providence, share in the Yโs mission of creating a healthy, connected community for all, regardless of an individualโs ability to pay.
โOur community sponsors believe in the impact of the Y,โ said Jennifer Willows, Chief Development Officer of YMCA of Snohomish County. โWe want to extend a huge โthank youโ for their generous support of Annual Campaign and their commitment to providing an opportunity for community members to give back.โ
This yearโs Annual Campaign goal of $1.3 million will be used to ensure access for all to YMCA programs, including swimming lessons, youth sports, and child care. Last year, the Y granted $2.1 million in financial assistance and funds raised this year will help close the gap.
โWe also want to thank our YMCA members who participated in My Y Week. Over $34,000 means over 34,000 members scanned their card at one of our six facilities during the week,โ said Willows. โIt was exciting to see so many Y members show up and make a difference.โ
With just two weeks remaining in this yearโs Annual Campaign, The YMCA of Snohomish County hopes the energy and excitement generated during My Y Week will create a ripple effect and inspire individuals to give to the Y. Itโs not too late to give through โ10 for 10,โ a campaign for members to donate $10 a month for 10 months, creating an opportunity for more people to invest in bringing critical programs and services to the local community.
โThe 10 for 10 campaign is a great opportunity for members to give and make a big impact,โ said Willows. โWe want to involve as many people as possible because the power of the Y is maximized when our members and community members invest in our community.โ
