Mukilteo to host Earth Day Community Cleanup on April 18

MUKILTEO—In celebration of Earth Day, the City of Mukilteo is organizing the annual community cleanup event at Lighthouse Park on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Volunteers are invited to join in the effort to beautify Lighthouse Park, located at 608 Front Street in Mukilteo. Check-in will open from 8:30-9:00 a.m., with the cleanup activities kicking off at 9 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in various tasks, including pressure washing, wedding, and re-graveling walking paths. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening tools and gloves, as the City’s supply is limited.

All participants are required to fill out a volunteer waiver with the City of Mukilteo at check-in. Families are encouraged to participate in this event, although children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent throughout the event. Anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent signature to participate.

Volunteers will be treated to a barbecue, sponsored by Tapped Mukilteo, from noon-1 p.m. while supplies last. The first 100 volunteers will receive complimentary Earth Day Community Cleanup T-shirts. In addition, parking at Lighthouse Park will be free from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on April 18 in support of the event.

“We are excited to host our annual Earth Day Community Cleanup,” said Mukilteo Mayor Joe Marine. “For 56 years, the event has united our residents in promoting a healthy, sustainable environment for our community through volunteer work aimed to spruce up Lighthouse Park. The city’s dedication to Earth Day continues to inspire action and awareness of the importance of protecting our city and the planet for future generations.”

Join us on Saturday, April 18 as we unite to make a difference in our community.
