Snohomish County, Wash., August 7, 2020 – Brian Sullivan, Snohomish County Treasurer, was recently appointed to three key positions by the National Association of Counties President, Gary W. Moore (Boon County, Kentucky). The first, Vice-Chair of the Finance, Pensions and Intergovernmental Affairs Steering Committee, is where he will work on issues involving financial resources for counties, fiscal management, federal assistance (Covid-19), municipal borrowing, county revenues, federal budget, federal tax reform, elections, and Native American concerns.
Sullivan will also serve on a special task force for International Economic Development, a pivotal position to help Snohomish County ports and aerospace industries. Third, he will serve on the Large Urban County Steering Committee. This powerful committee represents the top 150 counties by population in the nation. It’s the premier forum for exchanging ideas and solutions to aid urban counties to address their most pressing issues.
Moore emphasized, “Brian was chosen because I want to build a talented and committed leadership team for the nation’s counties.”
Treasurer Sullivan is honored for all three appointments believing he can be impactful mostly in economic development.
Stephanie Wright, Vice-Chairperson for the Snohomish Council, stated, “Treasurer Sullivan has always worked in the best interest of Snohomish County. I look forward to working with Brian at the national level.”
