Call for Mukilteo EMS Levy Pro and Con Committee members

MUKILTEO, Wash., April 7, 2023—On April 3, the Mukilteo City Council authorized adding a ballot measure to the August 1, 2023, primary election for an EMS Levy Lid Lift at a levy rate of $0.40 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation, starting in 2024, and expiring after six years. This would bring the levy rate from its current rate of $0.27 per 1,000.00 of assessed valuation to $0.40 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation.

The City is seeking members of committees to write the Pro and Con statements for the voters pamphlet. The City Council will make their selection at the May 1st Council Meeting.

Members will need to work together to have these statements finalized by May 22, with rebuttals due May 26. Each committee can consist of three members but can also ask the advice of other individuals. Selected individuals must be available to collaborate with committee members between the dates of May 1 and May 22. Applicants must be a registered voter within Snohomish County.
