Mukilteo, Wash., June 9, 2023—The City of Mukilteo is excited to announce that applications are now open for student residents of Mukilteo between the ages of 14-18 to join the Mukilteo Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC). MYAC was established in 2009 to serve as a vital link between the youth of our community and the City. Comprising of up to 15 dedicated members, MYAC aims to make policy recommendations, plan, organize, coordinate, and participate in drug and alcohol-free social, cultural, recreational, educational, and other activities for youth in our community, and foster youth involvement in local governance.
MYAC meets regularly during the academic year on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm at City Hall. We are asking all applicants to make a commitment to attend at least 80% of MYAC meetings and project events; if you believe your other activities will prevent you from making this pledge, we ask that you not apply and allow another student to be considered.
Applications are due by 4:30 pm on Friday, August 11th. Interviews will be scheduled for the week of August 21st. Confirmation is tentatively scheduled for the September 5th, 2023, City Council Meeting. Candidates who are selected for MYAC will be contacted thereafter.
