Annual Stuff-a-Bus returns to bring holiday cheer to families in need

EVERETT, Wash., October 29, 2023—For three weekends after Thanksgiving, Volunteers of America Western Washington, in partnership with Fred Meyer, Everett Transit, and ATU Local 883, will host the annual “Stuff-a-Bus” toy and food drive at Fred Meyer, 12906 Bothell-Everett Hwy near SR 527 in Everett.

Shoppers will have an opportunity to load an Everett Transit bus located on site with gifts and donations that will be distributed to local families. This year’s goal is to provide 6,000 meals and 2,500 gifts. Toys are the most requested items for children who would otherwise have no gifts to open, but the need includes shelf-stable foods and essentials like hygiene items, diapers, undergarments, and warm winter clothing.

Stuff-a-Bus kicks off after Thanksgiving and runs for three consecutive weekends: November 25 & 26, December 2 & 3, and December 9 & 10, from 10am – 4pm. Volunteers are still needed to staff the bus and accept donations. If you’d like to sign up for a shift, register at volunteer.voaww.org or call (425) 609-0278.

For those who are not able to contribute in person but still want to spread holiday cheer, online donations are being accepted at https://bit.ly/stuffabus2023. Proceeds will benefit families in Snohomish County.
