LYNNWOOD—Lynnwood City Council Candidate Jessica Ann Roberts has withdrawn today to be appointed to the Lynnwood City Council, according to the City of Lynnwood. Roberts was appointed to the City Council by a unanimous decision on Monday, March 10.

In a statement to the Everett Herald as to why she withdrew, Roberts wrote: “My personal life and identity does not in any way affect my ability to do the job. However, I have decided to withdraw my appointment not because I’m unwilling to serve the people of my community, but because the continued scrutiny of my personal life is a potential distraction from the council’s forward progress.”
The Lynnwood City Council announced on Tuesday it is calling a Special Business Meeting for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, to consider rescinding the appointment of Jessica Ann Roberts to the council. Roberts was appointed to the council on Monday, March 10, to fill the Position 5 vacancy left by Julieta Altamirano-Crosby.
The Special Business Meeting scheduled for Thursday will still be held as scheduled to provide more information on the next steps to fill the vacant Council position. The council has until April 5 to appoint a person to Position 5 or the matter will be handed to the Snohomish County Council.
At Monday’s meetings, the final two candidates to fill the council vacancy were Army combat veteran and Program Manager at Amazon, Robert Leutwyler, and Customer Service Representative Jessica Ann Roberts. The vote was tied 3-3 for each candidate which resulted in the council going into Executive Session.
Council members Josh Binda, Derica Escamilla, and David Parshall were resolute on appointing Roberts. Council members Patrick Decker, George Hurst, and Nick Coelho voted for Leutwyler. After multiple Executive Sessions, the vote was unanimous for Roberts, 6-0.
Shortly after it was posted to the Lynnwood Times’ social media accounts on Monday evening of Roberts’ appointment, it was revealed, by members of the public, that Roberts is an OnlyFans model and expresses extremely explicit and dehumanizing viewpoints about women on various Reddit subchannels.
