SCF and SRFR responds to swift water rescue

SNOHOMISH—South County Fire District 4, Snohomish Regional Fire Authority, and Valley Fire made a swift water rescue after a man fell into the Pilchuck River in Snohomish Monday evening.

South County Fire District 4 was dispatched to a swift water rescue at 12210 Debuque Road last night around 7:24 p.m. following reports of a person in the river.

Prior to the arrival of rescue units, responders were advised that the individual had made it to the riverbank. Engine 83 accessed the area and confirmed the patient was out of the water but remained stranded along the riverbank, according to the SCF.

Rescue crews were directed downstream to gain access and safely remove the patient. With assistance from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and rescue personnel, the patient was successfully extricated to the Centennial Trail around 8:10 p.m., where Medic 44 was standing by to provide transport to Providence for further evaluation and treatment.
