Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce Announces Executive Director Transition

MUKILTEO — The Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce announces that Executive Director Kandace Barnes has submitted her resignation, effective August 31, 2026, after seven years of dedicated service to the Chamber and the Mukilteo community.

During her tenure, Barnes guided the Chamber through one of the most challenging periods in its history. As the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted businesses and community life, she worked tirelessly to create safe, engaging events that kept the community connected while supporting local businesses during an unprecedented time. Barnes championed Chamber lunches over Zoom, during the lockdown period, and helped our local restaurants outperform neighboring communities during their most challenging season.

As restrictions eased and the community began to recover, Barnes continued to lead with energy and vision. Under her leadership, the Chamber expanded and revitalized community programming, including the Music at the Beach concert series, Great Mukilteo Dog Show, Wine and Seafood Fest, the Chamber Gala, and many other events that have brought residents, visitors, and businesses together in celebration of all that makes Mukilteo special.

Her dedication helped the Chamber navigate extraordinary challenges while continuing to foster opportunities for our local businesses and residents. We sincerely thank her for her faithful service and wish her success in the next chapter of her career.”

The Chamber’s Board of Directors will begin the process of identifying the organization’s next Executive Director. During the transition, the Board remains committed to ensuring continuity of operations and continuing the Chamber’s mission of supporting local businesses, promoting economic vitality, and strengthening the Mukilteo community.

The Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce extends its heartfelt appreciation to Barnes for her years of service and wishes her the very best in her future endeavors.
