MUKILTEO — The Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Breakfast with the Chamber on Thursday, Sept. 17, with Lynnwood Times senior reporter Kienan Briscoe as the featured speaker.
The breakfast runs from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Tapped Public House located at 10809 Mukilteo Speedway. The breakfast is a casual networking event for members and guests that typically draws 30 to 40 people. Registration is requested so organizers can plan the breakfast buffet.
Kienan Briscoe covers Snohomish County government, waterfront development and local business issues. In January he interviewed Mayor Joe Marine about priorities for a fourth term, including plans for the former Navy property now managed in part by the Port of Everett, improvements at Lighthouse Park and efforts to keep Mukilteo’s tax climate competitive.
Over the course of his career, Briscoe has built a reputation as a journalist while pursuing his passion for fiction and the arts. His writing explores the complicated places where identity, relationships, ambition, and human connection intersect.
His latest novel, Eternity is a Shattered Coffee Cup, is an introspective coming-of-age story about friendship, influence, rebellion, and the moments that quietly change who we become.
Briscoe’s journey from journalist to published novelist is ultimately a story about persistence—continuing to create, evolve, and pursue the work that matters even when the path forward isn’t always obvious.
The chamber’s mission is to promote business development and economic growth in greater Mukilteo, a waterfront city that is home to small retailers as well as aerospace employers near Paine Field. Other regular programs include Business After Hours and Lunch & Learn sessions.
