Mill Creek announces new Chief of Police Stan White

MILL CREEK, Wash., November 3, 2022—After a nationwide search, City Manager Martin Yamamoto announces hiring Stan White as Chief of Police on Tuesday, November 1. Before his appointment, Chief White served as the City’s Acting Police Chief since December 31, 2021. 

“I am proud to announce Stan White as the City’s permanent Chief of Police. Stan is the ideal candidate with 27 years of experience in law enforcement and the character and impeccable integrity to build an effective organizational structure. I look forward to watching our Mill Creek Police Department reach its full potential under Stan’s leadership,” said Yamamoto.  

Chief White has been with the Mill Creek Police Department since 2003 and is known for actively supporting community events such as National Night Out and Coffee with a Cop. After becoming Acting Chief, Stan’s top priority was addressing departmental attrition. Working closely with his department and the City’s executive team, he filled seven vacancies in eleven months. 

The City of Mill Creek, WA. is actively recruiting experienced, lateral police officers with up to a $20,000 hiring bonus. The Mill Creek Police Department (MCPD) is a full-service police department that maintains 24-hour staffing and serves a community of about 21,000 people. According to its website, the Mill Creek Police Department consists of 23 commissioned staff members and is a member agency of The North Sound Metro SWAT Team.
