Biker escapes police patrol after chase
A biker riding above the speed limit fled a police officer who was chasing him closely. The incident occurred westbound in the 7100-block 20th St SE in Lake Stevens.
A police patrol was doing a routine check when he observed a biker, later described by the officer as a white male, riding significantly above the speed limit. The man was wearing a dark-colored t-shirt, a black backpack, a black helmet, and he was riding a yellow and black street motorcycle.
Police followed the traffic violator who was riding at 97mph in a 35mph area. Once the biker saw the police vehicle approaching him, he accelerated further, performing tricks on the westbound lanes of the 7100 block. Despite the police’s several approaches with flashing lights, the biker eventually escaped.
The police officer tried to determine the biker’s whereabouts but ended his chase unsuccessfully without locating or identifying the biker.
